I can be overwhelmed or underwhelmed, but I can’t be whelmed. Or, at least, I think theoretically I could but the way I have set up my life seems to have made it very difficult. I would love to spend more of my life whelmed. Someone whelm me.

As someone who has audited projects, built stuff (mostly robots & some toy software) + spends her time reading sci/tech history, this is completely understandable. On Wednesday, users reported an account that had a slur as its handle. This handle was in violation of our community guidelines, and it was our mistake that allowed it to be created. 40 minutes after it was reported, the account was taken down, and the code that allowed this to occur was patched.

Honestly, if there's going to be one thing out of the cloud app experiment that takes root, I hope this is it. Giving users the power to craft their own algorithms and then share it with other users is incredibly powerful. We already do UGC. Why can't we do UGA/UGR?

He is dangerous, dishonest & wrong about everything, and anyone covering or sharing info about him should be QUITE CLEAR about that

A counter argument: libraries are safe spaces that do not charge you money to be there. Librarians help those without access to the web to apply for jobs and housing, provide access to accurate information without payment, including physical or e- or audiobooks.
