I've been aggressively daydreaming about my Vampire Hunter D and Saga inspired "epic"/dystopian science fantasy about a woman who's died a thousand times crusade to kill a god. Send help.

Kill your darlings? No, I massacre them. Draft 3: 109k Draft 4 (rewrite): 96k Draft 5 (dev edits): 93k Draft 6 (line edits): 90k Anything is possible with persistence and time, including cutting down your novel's word count.

First sketch of 2026 is of the unnamed OC who's been on my mind for quite some time. He's an illusionist who uses a hand fan in battle. I'm hoping to do more sketches this year of him and of my characters from both my corrupted chosen one science fantasy and angel cannibalism fantasy horror, too!

A graphite sketch of a young man who looks feminine in appearance. His has chin length hair, with some at top pulled into a ponytail. He has thin eyebrows and warm, distinct eyes that almost seem downturned. His nose and lips are average sized. He's wearing a simple shirt with an elaborate collar with details reminiscent of butterfly wings.

It's interesting how a person can believe you'll be their undoing when in reality it's their actions and the attention it garners which ultimately undoes them. But some people would rather blame others when they fall. Some adults never mature. They're never wrong.

I think I may have figured out which project I'll work on while querying later this year: an "epic" science fantasy in the vein of Vampire Hunter D, Saga, and The Locked Tomb series following a woman who's died a thousand times in her crusade to kill a god.

It's looking like today might be my last writing session of the year because of a tendonitis flare up. On a positive note, I've written over 125k words across 3 projects this year. Not too bad!

Nothing quite like being bullied at work for years by someone who calls you family but drags you through the dirt and flings insults on a regular basis. Here's to better things coming my way and the universe doing as it sees fit.

I don't think anyone realizes how absolutely f*cked up my short story in the Monstrous Angels anthology is. I'm rereading it and I'm trying not to cry and gag. I recommend having a Bible (or any religious text of your choice), a garbage can, water, and a box of Kleenex nearby.

Divine Flesh
by Aria Igniata

“Tell me, how does it feel to devour the flesh of an angel?
To feel the crunch of bones between your molars?
To have your tongue coated with blood?
To fill yourself with feathers, so soft, so fragile?
Tell me, how does it feel to devour divine flesh?”

I'm amazed by how I've managed to write 4 novels since 2021 (including rewriting a 109k draft into a 96k draft) while dealing with worsening chronic pain. Some days I wonder how I manage to get anything done. It doesn't seem like the pain will improve, but I'll keep writing.

I wish society wasn't so looks/appearance obsessed. I just want to write my novels and give back to my community as a nurse. I don't care to be judged for features and "flaws" that I cannot help. I don't care about being perfect or my body being tea. I just want to live as I am.

Every so often I remind myself that despite not having an agent, I have: -Two degrees -A solid career -A wonderful partner by my side I'm not behind. I'm right where I'm meant to be with so much more ground to cover.

I'm going to be a published author next month!! People will get to read about f*cked up humans eating angelic flesh and one equally f*cked up angel's crusade to disrupt the status quo and plant the seeds of chaos. Prepare yourselves for grade-A f*ckery across the board.

Monstrous Angels
An Anthology of Religious Horror
Edited by Arwyn Sherman & Brittany McMunn

Burned out from revising over 150 pages so far this month, so I caved in and might've done a little writing for my angel cannibalism fantasy horror. For fans of angel eaters, cannibalistic angels, dead gods, and a budding romance amongst the horrors of the world.

Devour Me Whole

By Aria Igniata

“Sweet is the marrow of an angel
For it is free, for it is pure
Devour that which lies before you
Consume the flesh blessed by the gods
Ascend with bloodied hands
Ascend with a soul free of sin.”

Y'all ain't ready for when I turn my angel cannibalism short story (to be published in the Monstrous Angels anthology) into a full length fantasy horror about the lengths humans will go to consume angelic flesh.
