I also think that a lot of the most important parts of writing happen at the revision stage. That’s where you figure out the distances between what you thought you were saying, what you actually said, and what you should be saying. And that’s an active thinking process. GenAI can’t do it for you.

I’m scared for us. And I’m scared of us. I keep thinking about survivors — people raped years ago, people raped last night or this morning — watching all of this play out. The betting, the jokes, the doxxing, the memes. There are so many ways to die in America without dying. More everyday.

That particular cult is not even there to play. They are there to torment other players. They will do it on PvP, PvE and if somehow forced off of those, even go to RP to get their fix ruining it for everyone else. I do hope some solution is found soon though. I was enjoying the beta!

Wrote about WoW: Forever's streamer problem. I will say Blizzard is making some serious headway on the RMT issue. As for how to handle the other stuff, well, maybe more than one PvP server would be cool?

As a senior at SVA, Arisman's weekly lectures had a huge impact on me. And not just the part where he showed us how easy it was to make something look like it was made of metal and convince others it took forever! That man could tell a story! I left each lecture gobsmacked.

Marshall Arisman was born on this date in 1938 and I remember his work for Omni Magazine vividly. "The fine art world stigmatizes people for illustrating [...] Every gallery tells me to quit illustration" Witness, oil on canvas, 1981, Smithsonian American Art Museum:

Anthony Comstock: Morality crusader. Professional hater. Dildo hoarder. He collected porn, sex toys, and books. And he showed them to Congress to sell lawmakers on the Comstock Act, an 1873 law which conservatives could use to ban abortion nationwide. New Baby Boom! Lawyered Out now.
