📣ATTENTION TRANS ALLIES! The government is about to defund ALL organizations that receive public funds unless they actively erase trans identities. We need you to leave a public comment and oppose this regulation before it's too late! Instructions to leave public comment 👉 vist.ly/5axus

Text about defunding orgs supporting trans people, surrounded by names like schools, health clinics.

In coverage we did last month, we explained the risk of a regulatory proposal by the Trump administration via the OMB. If made regulation, this rule would effectively force most of US society to ignore that trans people exist, or lose the money needed to serve other populations' basic needs.

Trump Administration proposes barring federal agencies, federally funded organizations from acknowledging existence of trans people

This proposal is the most comprehensive such attempt to be floated.

Folks, no one has a RIGHT to higher office. OK? You aren't "canceling" anyone when you decide NOT TO SUPPORT THEIR QUEST FOR MORE POWER. Please let's be SERIOUS. This is not what is meant by "no one is disposable." I'm begging people to focus and use your brains. That man can still make a LIVING.

1. In our latest, I go over an in-depth analysis of Kansas AG Kobach's arguments for making trans Kansans undocumented because they are trans. Among other absurd arguments, Kris Kobach states that the US Constitution "is rooted in ancient biblical concepts." 🧵 theneedlenews.com/2026/07/insi...

Inside Kansas's Defense of Invalidating Trans Owned Driver's Licenses

I wrote an op-ed about the Graham Platner situation. If anything, I'm more upset at the fact that it took until now for people to condemn him when he's clearly been unfit for office for a long time. Look: he may be an ally, but he isn't a good person. And I'm sick of having bad people in charge.

Yes, Graham Platner is a Trans Ally. Yes, He Says What You Want to Hear. That Doesn’t Make Him Any Less Unfit for Office.

Despite his ostensibly progressive politics and vocal LGBTQ+ allyship, Graham Platner was unfit for office long before the latest allegations. Why did it take so long to finally draw the line?

It angers me to see corporate queer news publishing my Kansas story from last week as if it’s their own reporting only to link my story in like the final paragraph. But I’m not surprised. Corporate queer journalism has always been corporate waaaay before it’s been queer.

My and Jane's latest covers the disastrous SCOTUS ruling this morning. In short, trans people no longer have equal protection because this court has decided that Constitutionally speaking people are only ever their coercively assigned sex at birth. theneedlenews.com/2026/06/supr...

Supreme Court rules trans people not entitled to equal protections under law

The full consequences of this decision are wide, and will be hard to predict, but it is safe to say that every trans person has had their rights reduced.

One helps people make connections, however fraught, with other people. The other cooks your cognitive and reasoning abilities. You don't have to guess which one many people currently in power want kids to avoid and which they think is great for kids.
