Hi, I am an Italian artist (strong word) based in the Vosges (a small mountain chain in France). I mostly paint and draw the landscape that's around me. Liberal, progressive, vegan 🏳️🌈

Nitro playing in the garden. Quick question/ suggestion. Are any of you creative people on Substack? I'm just saying because I love it there and thought you might be interested in giving it a try. Cheers
This started as a small watercolour, but I ended up covering it in acrylics. Funny how last year I was all for watercolour on brown paper and now I'm responding more to brighter shades. Anyway, I like this one, it's of a path I walk at least once a week. #vosges #gerardmer
A made up forest landscape painted with the leftover colours from the Pont des Fées illustration. I think I actually prefer this rougher kind of approach, at the same time I have to think about the market and what sells there. I’d like to see what happens if I offer something like this.
This is another view of the Pont des Fées. This time in acrylics. Not happy with being built by the faeries, apparently Charlemagne rode on the path next to it!
This is one of three similar postcard size paintings I made of the same scene, and the last one remaining. My new favorite spot: Lac Retournemer
I wanted to go back to the previous scene and do a more detailed version, but I think I like ( and enjoyed sketching) the other one better
Fresh from the market in Longemer. France is about to play so a little quieter than usual, but still a good afternoon
And the last series for this week’s market. The Pont Des fées: the Fairies Bridge. The name actually comes from the local dialect for “conifers” but since that word is quite similar to fairies many legends have been told about the bridge’s origin
A series of quick original versions of the same landscape. One I painted several times before: the view over lake #Retournemer and #Longemer #vosges
I went back to the same creek. This time I wanted to use a different palette. Liezey - Vosges
I added a few highlights and some details. I think it's better. Funny to think that this water will travel from this small village, through France, Luxembourg, Germany where it will join the Rhine and eventually end up in the North Sea! The creek in Liezey. Watercolour
Today we went to wet our feet in a creek in Liezey,a lovely hamlet nearby. I enjoyed sketching this and I like its fluidity. But I need to add more contrast especially in the water area
We took Nitro to lake Retournemer yesterday, to cool down and enjoy a bit of fun in the water. It's such a glorious spot. This is in watercolour on brown paper, postcard size. Nitro is in the comments 😊
First picture, we went to cool down walking down ( over ) the Meurthe river, a minute after the photo was taken i fell in the above mentioned river and my phone has been spending a couple of days in a bag of rice! On the left a, mostly plein air watercolour of the forest near me. Yep, more trees!
At this time of the year the forest floor is carpeted in blueberries ( not quite ripe yet). Here they are wonderfully called Brimbelles. #Watercolour on brown paper #forest #art #humanart
