You know what you do as an NHL GM when you absolutely, positively do not want to trade a guy? You listen to as many trade offers as possible. There's no real difference between "listening" and "get this guy the fk off my team." In both cases, you're trying to trade.

I got no idea if Darren Raddysh will be good for the Leafs. I got a real good idea of what every single person in the hockey universe would say if the #Isles (or #NYR) made this move and gave him 8 years at that number.

I have no idea if the #Isles are going to trade Barzal or not. I do think this is a mediocre team that had a lot go right this season and still missed the playoffs. They have to improve and one way you can do that is trade guys (Barzal, Pelech) who have real value and start fresh.

Every pending UFA or FA contract signed this summer should come with a content warning before you see the term/$
