New paper out! Using over 20 years of #satellite data, we show that restored #peatlands start to resemble intact peatlands. Their #albedo and land surface #temperature (LST) gradually align with those of natural peatlands. 👉 iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1...

If the smoke isn’t hitting the East Coast, Canadian wildfires are “out of sight out of mind” for many. But as this article explains, our wildfire season continues to accelerate. The area burned over the past week alone is equivalent to that of nearly an entire typical fire season across Canada.

We had so much fun sharing ideas and results and helping each other shape what will eventually be several papers from @peatmothership.bsky.social. Thank you all for an intense two days.
