At least this time we won’t have the Gold Coast extolling the virtues of their incredibly sunny lifestyles to a bunch of Glaswegians in the rain waiting for Kylie.

At BBC Sport. Bouncing between Glasgow (nearly) and Salford. Will go on about news, sport, Scottish stuff, Eurovision etc. Any rare views are very much my opinion alone.
You can always tell when it’s a particularly bad downpour out of nowhere in Glasgow when you hear someone swearing at the weather.
Blazing sunshine for weeks on end. Day two of hosting the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and … yep.
This has turned into a KT Tunstall gig and, frankly, that isn’t actually a bad thing.
This is the closest we’re going to get to what a Eurovision would have looked like in the Hydro then.
The Commonwealth Games then, live from a legendary Eurovision venue (in the film at least).
Just seen someone state that Zlatan had never done any TV work before the World Cup. I beg to differ having seen him over 24,000 hours of Sanremo.
Strong dull FA Cup final vibes this, nothing happens for ages, you go “well, penalty shootout coming up” and then
This is the best gig on earth for a pop star/muppet/both. You’re on for about 21 seconds and off again and go home with a suitcase of money.
Shout out to my son for helping me to miss all the pre-game nonsense.
Last night for England was a true “is this a happy ending or a sad ending? It’s an ending” moment.
Has the tannoy guy just left the album running after Wonderwall? Don’t Look Back In Anger is a bit on the nose.
Imagine you got tickets to the bronze medal match and thought “well, meaningless game but it’ll be great to be at the World Cup” and you got that. In fairness, I think the crowd reacted in that spirit too.
Two teams that have completely forgotten how to defend, cracking. #FRAENG
A major takeaway from this World Cup: Don’t be scared of historically big name sides. Brazil weren’t up to much, France faltered at the first big test.
The French do appear to be all style, no bite. Wasn’t convinced weeks ago, and the big teams aren’t tested until late in this tournament, when it can often be too late to adjust course.
