Me wanting to be an annoying pedant and reply to anyone saying that "Tales of Eternia was released as Tales of Destiny 2 in the west" that its more accurate to say it released under that name in America, the previous EU release on PSP used its proper title.

And it's all to make Symphonia like Other Tales Games which I can't help but feel like is always a creative dead-end. I do not think Symphonia needs Free Running, a mechanic that makes Tales combat feel so much worse than if you just engaged with the LMBS via the straight line pathway

Still can't help but find it quite scummy that Life Bottle Prod only disclosed AI usage (even if it was for reverse-engineering which I know is a sorta grey zone) in the youtube description, something barely anyone who is gonna just see their announcement tweets will look at

I don't care how much you want a mod or how good it ends up being, Gen AI has material harmful affects on society and the environment, particularly affecting poorer income communities, not to mention is built off of scraping up and plagiarizing so much stuff from other people.

Two years ago, Tales of The Rays ended service (this isn't an anniversary or anything, it happened in july). This was before I really became active on bsky so I think people might not know or remember how much I'd talk about this game. I basically spent 7 years of my life keeping people aware of it.

key art for tales of the rays fairy's requiem

I genuinely mean this. I cannot imagine a more bleak dystopian notion than the idea of all art being turned into slop designed to coddle my exact perceived intentions. The point of literature, film, music, and art is to be exposed to the interior lives of others. Who are these people.

maybe i'm old fashion but the coolest thing about video games is being taken to new worlds that i hadn't thought up and experiencing something exciting that the artists behind the game want to show me

Every video game -- and every piece of software -- will be personalized exactly to your preferences.

This is unsurprising because ai generated code *is* ai generated text. Code is text. People think code is different because you can test to see if it runs. But that just tells you if it runs (or passed the tests defined in the code) It does not and *cannot* tell you if it makes sense

I really need to make it clear to folks that AI-generated code closely resembles AI-generated text, by which I mean it is syntactically correct, easy to produce, and can approach what a human can make, but very clearly lacks the forethought and holistic nature of when a skilled human makes it.

I Think I just came up with a really cool idea for a mechanic, where you have an RPG that allows you to limit your effective level for end of battle bonuses like more exp and such, but you also have the ability to drop those limits mid battle to restore yourself back to your true level,
