Proud to stand with my Assembly colleagues in passing a 22-bill package to fight back against Trump’s war on immigrants. My bill AB 2465 says not one dime of California taxpayer money for the private companies who work with ICE to profit from detention centers that put children in cages.

Yesterday, the Assembly passed a 22-bill package protecting our immigrant communities from Trump’s DHS, including my bill AB 2465, which bans state tax breaks to for-profit detention centers and other companies who contract with ICE and profit from Trump’s war on immigrants.

The house of origin deadline is this Friday. This means we are voting on hundreds of bills late into the night everyday. I couldn’t do this without my incredible Capitol staff who are keeping me briefed and ready!
