It was an honor to once again recognize my 2026 Woman of the Year, Olga Talamante, at a local community celebration last week. A champion for human rights and social justice, Olga has dedicated her life to empowering Latina leaders and advocating for immigrant and LGBTQ+ communities. (1/2)

As we enter the summer months, many students and families who rely on California’s universal school meal program find themselves without that critical support.   Help support our community by joining me in my Summer Food Drive! (1/2)

Summer Food Drive from July 13 - July 17, 2026. Drop off items to donate between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the following locations: 721 Colorado Ave, Suite 101 Palo Alto, CA or 535 Kelly Avenue Half Moon Bay, CA

This Independence Day, as we celebrate America's 250th year, we honor the enduring ideals of freedom, democracy, & opportunity that define our nation. Our democracy is strongest when we come together, participate, & work toward a better future for all.   Stay safe & have a fantastic Fourth of July!

Last week, I was proud to join Santa Clara County Supervisor Margaret Abe-Koga for our Youth Mental Health Town Hall in Palo Alto. Youth mental health continues to be a serious issue in our community & across the state, and we need to ensure every student has the support they need to thrive. (1/2)

It was a great afternoon in Half Moon Bay to celebrate the grand opening of the Big Wave Project! This incredible new campus will provide housing, meaningful employment, & a vibrant community for adults with disabilities. Congrats to everyone whose dedication, & generosity made this day possible.

Let the Pride Month celebrations continue! It was great to be out in my District today, celebrating Pride with the City of Mountain View and with the Avenidas Rainbow Collective in Palo Alto.

Happy Juneteenth! Today is not only a celebration of the end of slavery in our country, but of our never ending commitment to fighting all forms of injustice. Now more than ever, it is crucial that we continue to stand up for freedom and our values of equity and inclusion.

On Gun Violence Awareness Day, we recommit ourselves to ending gun violence in our communities. California continues to lead the way with commonsense gun safety laws that save thousands of lives every year. (1/2)

If California is going to meet its ambitious climate goals, we need to make the transition from fossil fuels to cleaner energy more affordable. That’s what my bill, AB 2313, does by providing homeowners with support to electrify their homes. (1/2)

We must do everything we can to prevent suicide. That’s why I authored AB 2003, to provide life-saving suicide prevention training to ensure our students, teachers, administrators, and parents have the tools necessary to support young people in need. (1/2)

Today we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our freedoms. Their courage and sacrifice safeguarded the liberties we enjoy today and inspire us to never take them for granted. We remember their legacy, honor their families, and remain forever grateful.

Children’s Health Council has been a literal lifesaver for young people and their families in my district and beyond, providing mental health services, expert led learning programs, and more. (1/2)

What a fun morning with the 4th grade students of Covington School, Los Altos! It was an honor to show them the Assembly Floor, and answer some great questions from these bright students! Thank you to everyone who made the trip up to Sacramento!

Unfortunately California is facing a youth mental health crisis, but resources like allcove youth mental health centers provide vital care and services to support young people across the state. (1/2)

I celebrated Earth Month by hosting a Trail Talk this weekend at Shoreline Park in Mountain View! It was great to connect with constituents in a more low-key way, learn a lot about ecological efforts in the district, get some steps in & mostly avoid the rain. A fun morning & a great time had by all!

A great community coffee in Portola Valley this morning. I always appreciate our conversations on issues important to our communities and how we can find real solutions. Thank you to everyone who braved the rain to join us!

Tonight marks the first night of Passover, a story of community and liberation. As we gather around the Seder table this evening, let us remember that we, the Jewish people, began our journey as “strangers in a strange land.” (1/2)

Happy Passover

Trump’s recent Executive Order to restrict mail-in voting is not only unconstitutional, but a blatant attack on our election system. As the author of CA’s universal vote-by mail law, I’m appalled, but not surprised, by these attempts to undermine our democracy & disenfranchise millions of voters.

President Trump has publicly admitted that the more Americans vote in 2026, the worse off Republicans will be. As the cost of both the war in Iran and gas in America skyrocket, Trump’s approval has cratered to historical lows. Faced with the potential for massive and embarrassing losses in the midterms, Trump is now trying to erect as many unnecessary barriers as possible to voting, with the goal of disenfranchising millions of Americans who are tired of his incompetence, corruption, and cruelty. This is an attack on our democracy, plain and simple.

Republicans don’t care about voter fraud. This is the arsonist trying to cosplay as a firefighter. Donald Trump personally called election officials in Georgia and demanded that they “find” him 11,000 more votes in 2020, attempting the greatest voter fraud in our nation’s history. Trump pardoned every insurrectionist who participated in the January 6th riot on our nation’s Capitol, the gravest attack on our democracy since the Civil War. The idea that Trump could be trusted with determining the rules for our elections is as laughable as it is terrifying.

Amazing turnout at our first AI Basics for Everyday Life Seminar — with over 750 constituents who signed up! From learning how to spot AI generated content to learning more about how AI works, I hope everyone walked away with more confidence in understand AI. (1/2)

The payday lending business is dependent on trapping Californians in a cycle of reborrowing, leaving them worse off than when they started. It’s time to end the payday loan debt cycle. I’m proud to author AB 2558 to protect Californians & their hard-earned dollars from these predatory loans.

Hangar One at Moffett Field is one of the most iconic sites in my district and across California, but it had fallen into disrepair and was in need of abatement of toxic substances and a massive effort to renovate the historic structure. (1/2)

It was great to join the Santa Clara County School Boards Association for their Annual Legislative Brunch. From the discussions of special education in our schools to the importance of STEM education, I appreciated our conversations on how we can best support our schools.

A truly beautiful evening at the inaugural Muslims of Menlo Park Atherton Ramadan Iftar! It was special to have a chance to sit together, eat together, and remember that what unites us is far greater than what divides us. And it was great to meet so many people, including lots of neighbors!
