A lotta people don’t like it because it made them uncomfortable, but we need that. Talking w friends (or yourself) about stuff like moral limits, forgiveness, hypocrisy, mental health etc. is good for us. Our parents would’ve been too uncomfortable/embarrassed to have these convos 💪🏾

As someone born/raised in Brooklyn who preaches about the gentrification problem there every time I’m there for the past 10+ yrs, this won’t fix it. When you build in Manhattan, the prices are still gonna be Manhattan prices. So the gentrifiers are still gonna cross the bridge to gentrify.

"build more housing where the rich white folks live so they dont buy cheaper housing where the black and brown folks live, which is what gentrification actually is." im not sure why this is a controversial statement. like white folks gentrified brooklyn cuz housing elsewhere was too expensive.
