I have now created a label and corresponding list for anti-transmasculinity. It is long overdue for which I apologize. Instances of it were few compared to the other three main labels for the majority of the time, but I have noticed an uptick in reports related to it. The clarity is important. 🧡

I do not know of any machine ways to differentiate between a trans person making a new account and a troll when each say "tranny" in the first few posts. 😂 It appears that Flora has blocked me. Please extend my apology. Thank you. 🧡

Thank you to everyone who sent this to me! This is an exciting way to begin the New Year. The lack of third party support is the roadblock I hit before, so I am going to implement this as soon as possible. I have many ideas in mind for workflow improvements.

did some work on our automod implementation so that it can be used by any arbitrary ozone instance. would really like to see labelers begin working with automation. will make a writeup sometime in the next few days on how to go about it.

I am disappointed but not surprised by this development. BlueSky is failing the community by refusing to act on their Community Guidelines and they are failing the community by refusing to give substantial improvements for community moderation. "Just block" is not safety. This policy is a failure.

In the past month alone, over 12M people joined Bluesky, with daily active users growing 10x. We received more reports in two days than in all of last year, and have integrated new systems and quadrupled our moderation team to try and keep up. Sometimes, we have to work quickly to correct errors.

I support this petition. BlueSky cannot cede all moderation responsibility to a community this big. I believe in community moderation but it is not a full replacement for central moderation. I am one of the biggest moderation labels. Even if I have 10 subscribers for every like, that is 0.1% usage.

Please report it to BlueSky itself so that hopefully they will ban the account for violating the terms of service. Thank you! 🧡

FYI: For operational efficiency, I have taken to marking many of the new account trolls just with the "Transphobia (General)" label even though all three labels often apply. Once an account label is applied, there is nothing else I can do. No need to keep sending reports in for them. 🧡

I have heard the requests for a "Secondhand Transphobia" post label for people who would like to avoid transphobia shared by people who themselves are not transphobic. Currently, I do not label these posts. I will consider adding this once the recent activity goes back down. 🧡

I must commend the BlueSky Trust and Safety team for their improved handling of reports. Even dealing with large spam waves, they are sometimes even faster than me! It is an impressive shift compared to earlier this year. Still, it would be nice if being "gender critical" was suspendable outright.
