Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.9 will include a new AQM implementation that works with hardware acceleration enabled. This uses Broadcom's Traffic Manager, which is available on models with a BCM4912 or BCM4916 CPU.

After a few months using Firefox as my main browser, I think it's time to go back to Chrome. The issues are now out weighting the benefits: random 2-3 secs pause on "Transferring data from somesite dot com", gesture navigation addon quirkiness, annoying start page on mobile...

Asuswrt requires Ubuntu <=20.04 to build (older BCM SDK are not compatible with 22.04). I'm going to build a new dev VM under Ubuntu 26.04, and rely on Docker instead for firmware compiling under the older environment. Asus provided me with their docker config, should be fine.

Can someone tell me why, by default, Realtek NICs on Windows will strip the VLAN tag, so if your LAN has IPv6 RA advertised on a separate VLAN, the Windows client end up with two IPv6 subnets, with the VLAN one not working? Sounds broken out-of-the-box to me.

After a few URL switches, the dnsmasq author now decided to put a "roadblock" in front of the git repo specifically for AI scraper bots. The FOSS community is visibly getting tired of the abuse from these AI providers. I have Cloudflare rejecting AI scrapers as well now.

I don't know if @cPanel is to blame for last night's MySQL upgrade that broke my server, but considering how they keep increasing their pricing on a yearly basis, I chose to count them as responsible for this. Thankfully they already published an article on how to revert.

amtm 6.6 is now available - Changed wording and logic in au Automatic script updates function. - Added option p to add up to four of your own personal scripts to the amtm menu to run it directly from it. Again, this update is only available for the firmware built in version of amtm.
