It would be helpful to split this into separate poll questions. It’s reasonable to think vote counting will be (basically) accurate but our electoral system is unfair. How insightful is a poll where Democrats holding that view can only express it by giving the same answer as MAGA election deniers?

It's the next morning and I'm still marveling at this. If you're ~47 or older and ask this question, it's hard not to assume you were living an incredibly sheltered and privileged life in 1986.

There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.

Weird to see people who (rightly) don't want a salary cap needing to argue that the Dodgers aren't a structural problem for baseball because they're just better at winning than the teams with less money.

He dumped water we needed in LA to fight the Palisades wildfires into the Central Valley just to fuck us over and it wasted water they needed for the grow season. No one remembers this either. It's insane.

One thing that's super cool about the Dodgers just buying everything is that MLB effectively created this monster by giving them ~$85M/yr by exempting most of their TV deal from revenue sharing dating back to their 2011 bankruptcy. Of course they can waste half of that on Kyle Tucker just for fun.

The Google Earth AI thing is very bad and stupid, but is it a substantive change from how things worked yesterday when a person could screenshot Google Earth and alter it with any number of image generation platforms? More important for what it tells us about Google than its impact IMO.

In my lifetime there has been exactly one "reckoning" by the American political press corps and it was about how they didn't do enough "Biden old" stories.

We are deep in silly season so that means people are pretending they don't know what an idiom is. Harkens back to when people pretended to be mad when Obama said "lipstick on a pig" during the 2008 race.

I do find it amazing that even in this moment, the Dems can't come up with some sort of "Contract for America" like language that offers an alternative to Trump. Maybe they have it, but whatever governing vision they have is lost in the noise.
