got a new thermal receipt printer? don't know what to do with it? try printing a live feed of the atproto firehose! you certainly won't regret printing a live feed of the atproto firehose

looks like i might have irrecoverably screwed up the database migration for my fediverse instance teehee 🤪 if i end up rebuilding the instance on a different domain, i guess my old account (and all of it's follow{ers, ing}) will kinda just exist as a ghost on other instances?

packing stuff for my first emf camp!! i have totally no idea how much to bring... this is enough equipment, right?

a large equipment bag sitting on a bed. it contains multiple sections that contain (among other things): multiple extension reels, a power bank, an analog telephone, a USB modem, a DECT cordless phone, a mikrotik router, a small network switch, one million ethernet cables, a HackRF One, and some (unassembled) mesh nodes.

to the bag's left are two cisco 2960 series switches, and to its top are two 8x8 VGA matrix switches, and a blahaj. a second smaller bag sits in the top left

I've been working on my battlebots today. I think my desk gets really visually interesting when it's this busy so I'm sharing it!

picture of my desk, its a wooden bench with a deltarune chapter 2 deskmat. there is a lot of stuff sitting on it, including
my laptop
a lithium battery charger
a large screwdriver set
many screwdrivers
multiple disassembled small robots
a flight controller
an arduino uno
a soldering iron
a small vice
countless untracable wires going everywhere
two monitors are visible in the background

[deltarune spoilers] finished chapter 5! very very fun, kinda builds on the same formula as previous chapters but has it's own charm in the form of new mechanics and silly gags. it feels like each chapter takes the same formula and builds on it in very clever ways :)

So, my home city is Belfast. This is where I and the people I love spend our lives. The racist rioting last night and fears of more tonight are heartbreaking. To think that this is how the city I love treats people? It's shameful. It makes me ashamed to call this place home

i listen to a lot of music, and i like to get it on CD (and sometimes other formats) where i can. so i thought i might make a thread that i can add to to show off any physical music i get!

hello from this bluesky outage! i'm able to see my feed using Blacksky, but it's mostly automated accounts. i guess virtually no one can actually post anything. so, i wonder how many people will actually see this?

Published a lightly commentated version of my FFT-influenced clock system (which I've been using for music visuals in OBS) onto Shadertoy (since I want to get into the habit of sharing with the community more). (music is 'Level 6 (CPU choke dub) (2023)' by Datassette) www.shadertoy.com/view/fcf3WM

I'm repairing some portable electronic scales with USB charging. it has this big supercapacitor for holding charge but nope! it's really a capacitor-shaped li-ion battery!

a capacitor-shaped battery taped to a plastic enclosude with a bundle of red, green, and white wires. the markings on the battery read "QL Li-ion 3.7V". the battery is white with a black strip with plus signs to indicate the positive terminalthe battery sitting on its own on a blue cutting board. It's red and black wires run to the right side of the image. the markings on the battery read "QL Li-ion 3.7V". the battery is white with a black strip with plus signs to indicate the positive terminal
