This is not the first time people have pointed out Vance’s hypocrisy on this issue, but to pull his children into it and say that you somehow know what’s in Vance’s mind about his own kids is over the line.

My wife and I alternate movie picks, and to add a twist this month we're doing a gimmick in which the next pick has to feature the fourth-billed actor from the last movie. It is the Fourth-Billed Daisy Chain Movie Festival
I think this point is a good one about what makes JURASSIC PARK great, butwe also haven't had a better shark movie than JAWS, and its not even close. I think there may be a common thread
Daniel Dockery@dandock.bsky.social · 2mo agoI personally believe the main reason that we haven't had a modern dinosaur film that's better than Jurassic Park is because JP is all about how we see dinosaurs. I can think of few blockbusters that are as focused on reinventing how the audience perceives a subject.

The new stuff has been bad for awhile except for the one thing that was specifically for adults, but that'll didnt stop the prequels. Maybe its that while the new shit is baby-brained, its also built like extended MCU mid-credits scenes designed to get 46yo baby men to clap at references

Jaws was their first real focus on them. Thankfully, we've reached an era where we have shark overload and everybody knows everything about them.

I think if Disney gave me authorial control over a Star Wars movie, it would be an A-/B+ movie (I have an idea), but my role would be limited to discussing my idea with the screenwriter and letting them turn into an actual script and then exercising editorial control over that and the production

A couple spots ahead of MCI. It's the 18th largest metropolitan statistical area behind TPA, MSP, & SEA, ahead of DEN & a couple ahead of BWI and STL. Owners can compete.
