Accounting nerd obsessed with music, Fisher Price Little People Collectibles, urban and not so urban fantasy novels, baking cheesecakes, Wisconsin Badgers, two spaces after periods, and dogs...all the dogs.

The wonderful thing about hosting parties with primarly Gen x friends is that it starts in the early afternoon, is over by 9, and it took us 5 minutes to clean this morning because our friends cleaned before they left. My heart and soul are happy today.

Putting a brisket on at 3 am and surprised a very large toad on our patio. Francis is not fond of toads but today she chose peace. Good for you Franny, good for you toad. Fran and toad are friends.

Listen, I'm all for ridiculous food items, but the Kwik Trip Mt Dew Dunker is an abomination and should never go anywhere near anyone's face hole. Not even as a morbid curiosity. I implore you all, let's have at least a speck of decorum, yes?

In reviewing my timeline, I see there is significantly more mentions of scaffolding then of the US World Cup match. I'm not disparaging either in the least bit, it's just a fascinating timeline we're living in.

80 degrees, no humidity and a pint of Half Fast Brewing Cat Stout of the Bag. Rach is planting veggies, dogs are frolicking amongst the grass and a Pulp - Common People playlist is producing some absolute gems. Dinner is in the smoker and life is a pretty sweet fruit.

Cat Stout of the Bag beer from Half Fast Brewing in Spring Valley, WI and a gorgeous northwest Wisconsin afternoon.

I'm sure someone has coined this phrase already but today, I'm practicing Crock Pot diplomacy. This can be translated to taking on world events with dear friends while shoveling cheap meatballs, brandy old fashioned, and Spotted Cow into our face holes. It's good for the soul.

Dammit Bucky. You broke my heart. On the positive side, we've made outstanding progress on the Home Alone house...no more foosball today. More drinks, Legos, and punk rock music are on the horizon.....and...Fire Fickel and Tressel can also piss strsight off.

Partially assembled Lego structure which will eventually become the house from Home Alone.

Good grief this is a frustrating game. My hopes were heightened last week and now I'm in a well of despair...relatively speaking...I don't have access to a despair well.

Hosting our family on Thanksgiving was awesome but tiring. Today though, we slept in, the dogs are not being assholes, and we're having some friends over later for Old Fashions and to build the Home Alone house from Legos. Also, it's Axe day. Go. Damn. Badger.

24 people, 3 dogs, lots of pie, and Thursday football. Mildly controlled chaos in our house today. I better hide the good whiskey.

Pro tip for those doing holiday baking. If your pie crust doesn't come together and it pisses you off, give up and throw it over the fence in the backyard. Then go buy a pie at Kwik Trip because it will probably taste better anyway.
