Goya’s "The Dog" This is part of his Black Paintings series. Goya created these works directly onto the walls of his home during a period of battling severe health issues. My favorite of the series. In fact, it served as my iPhone wallpaper for a bit. Seeing this in person is on my bucket list.

A vast, mottled expanse of ochre, pale gold, and grey fills most of the canvas. Along the bottom, a dark brown slope rises from left to right, and just above its crest the head of a small black-and-white dog appears, muzzle tilted up, gazing off to the right. The rest of the animal is hidden below. The emptiness above dwarfs it.

Jude Bellingham will undoubtedly receive all the accolades, but it’s worth noting how exceptional Anthony Gordon was during this game. Mexico deserves credit having an excellent tournament and being wonderful hosts. They will be greatly missed in the upcoming rounds.
