Goya’s "The Dog" This is part of his Black Paintings series. Goya created these works directly onto the walls of his home during a period of battling severe health issues. My favorite of the series. In fact, it served as my iPhone wallpaper for a bit. Seeing this in person is on my bucket list.
The Norwegians have discovered Pickford’s Achilles’ heel: a shot on target.
At work I write emails nobody wants and docs nobody reads. At night I write fiction and poetry. One of these pays. The other gets me through the day.
I published a poem today called "God's Creatures." It's short, about that feeling when a film or a song moves you and you turn around to tell someone, and no one's there. If it lands, subscribing (free) means the next one comes straight to you. God's Creatures open.substack.com/pub/augustch...

I don’t know who will see this, but this man is a hero to his country. The Iranian soccer team has been treated abominably by the Trump administration. Thankfully, other teams have received a warm welcome from ordinary Americans. But this broke my heart.

Jude Bellingham will undoubtedly receive all the accolades, but it’s worth noting how exceptional Anthony Gordon was during this game. Mexico deserves credit having an excellent tournament and being wonderful hosts. They will be greatly missed in the upcoming rounds.
