As affordability declines, the instinct will be towards independence and antisocialness. This is a grave mistake. We’ll thrive only through a greater societal design, more sharing, more trust, better safeguards.

Mag 7 companies are ~5% of the economy. If each was responsible for 5% of the population, they’d have ~16.5M people (more than states). Sounds bubbly. If a state only produced incremental updates to a handful of items - that state’s collapsing. Inflation tripled since 2010 but GDP only doubled.

Current state of AI: AI’s obviously not a pure substitute for labor. Comparing a human to any LLM is similar to comparing a super computer to a low tier web server. They have different qualities that make each more suitable to different tasks. As has been for a long time, using both is optimal.

One thing everyone can agree on: complexity is too high. I can’t simultaneously follow every law, innovate, do taxes, understand the economy, be social, know relevant history, chose the right religion, vote properly, eat right, exercise, save society and all the rest. It’s not feasible.

Maybe programmable money is an acceptable next step, provided the current balance of powers is maintained. As it stands, CBDC is like a coup. Congress should reclaim power of the purse. Of course, that relies on ending bribery. Possibly the root of all problems.

Developers should request architectural renders use 0 post processing and only physically-based, literal lighting. Currently, every render looks like fantasy and the real build is underwhelming.
