A simple reminder of algorithms just not getting it comes every time someone famous dies who I liked. I click on tribute posts in sympathy, but what the algorithm thinks I like is just posts about people dying. My feed soon fills with random sad announcements of the passing of unknown people.

Is it more weird that train companies think grown adults need to be reminded to take all their belongings with them when getting off the train, or that, despite the reminder at every station, some of us still leave things behind anyway?

This is something I hope is read by every school leader currently peddling the bullshit lie unthinkingly to their staff and students that if they don’t get used to using AI for everything right now they will be left behind in the job markets of the future. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

Managed to clear my “to do” list, even though it cost me the first day of the summer holidays. Not a bad feeling to not have that deadline hanging over me anymore though. And certainly not a bad feeling to not have to think about work again now for the rest of the summer.
