Over the weekend the oldest kid went from this newborn with a weirdly mature gaze to a 17-year-old. He operates a little differently than most people, but that's part of what makes him so cool. Any topic you mention, he will know something about it. Happy late birthday!

At Kinokuniya Books, I found a guide that I desperately need. And at the Southern Fried Gaming Convention, I found the best pinball machine and my kids found an original Famicom to play Super Mario Bros. on.

Today after work, my husband accidentally kicked the door frame & broke his toe. He was going to mow the lawn tonight, but I did it instead. Then when I sat on the bed, a huge green katydid popped up from under the covers. No pic, because I had to hold it in my cupped hands to take outside.
Literally what fandom discourse has turned into I fear.
A kid took a ball of yarn from the yarn exchange drawers, unwound it all over the kids' section like freaking Theseus, and when they left and I went to wind it up and put it back, it was wet 😭
We saw a trailer for a movie called The End of Oak Street. Sixth-grader said he wants to see it. I am always down to watch dinosaurs eat people, so we will probably go see it.

Homeless guy that comes in most days was telling my coworker about how corporations are harming people's health & making kids too skinny by removing gluten from food. 😅 I told her, he thinks this is important, & he wants you to be aware, so actually it's really nice that he's telling you this. 😉
In the next few weeks we are going to the big aquarium in GA. My great grand ambition in life is to see, and if possible, touch every animal. What this means is, I'm going to try to get my grabby hands on a whale shark.

Took the kids to see Tremors at the theater. We have seen it I-don't-know-how-many-times but never in a theater. I was really happy to see that there were quite a few people there. It's funny to see the original after watching all 7 movies plus the TV show. It's like seeing Burt Gummer as a baby.

It's been a solid week since I have seen Meryl. I don't think she's coming back. Sometimes she disappeared for 2 or even 3 days, but never this long. I keep saying I don't think she's coming back, hoping she'll appear in the driveway, howling for food, just to prove me wrong.
Husband texted me that Johnny Depp is in a new movie called 'Ebenezer' with the tagline 'Before he was Scrooge, he was Ebenezer.' Which makes no sense because his name was always Ebenezer Scrooge.
