At the end of April 2026, construction of four aircraft hangars began at Kaliningrad Chkalovsk Naval Air Base. The hangars will have an arched interior space and square end walls enclosing them, and will be similar to those constructed at other air bases across mainland Russia.

The crash site of a Tu-22M3 that was conducting a training flight in Irkutsk Oblast yesterday, on today’s satellite imagery. The incident marks the third non-combat loss of a Tu-22M3 in three years.

Today, there are 37 Tu-95MS and 9 Tu-160M at Ukrainka Air Base. Between June 13 and 18, one Tu-160M from Yelizovo Airport was redeployed to Ukrainka Air Base.
