I often find that looking at lower effort doodles of mine brings me more joy than full works I do. It brings me great pride to look at a finished piece but I also see every mistake or missed opportunity. Doodles are just fun pictures of my characters. My silly fellas. Look at them. They're happy :)

My favorite hobby is sitting in a corner and hoping the opportunity to be on a beginner writing team falls into my lap without actually doing anything to promote myself as someone interested in writing

It's always hard to tell if I've gotten better since I never make fully completed art and 99% of my creations are sketches and doodles But, still, there is improvement to the fundamentals if I look for it... At least, I think there is right? But can I really improve only through sketches? Hm.
