Over half of Muni’s 32-foot buses are currently out of service after the transit agency identified a brake component safety issue in the vehicles responsible for traveling some of San Francisco‘s most narrow and hilly streets.
“It is heartbreaking to witness the exploitation of women and underage girls outside my window. But SFMTA must take responsibility for the displacement that your infrastructure has created,” said Mission Resident Laurel Coco at an SFMTA board meeting Tuesday.

Monday’s meeting revealed Cubic has recorded 10 major incidents accounting for over 33 hours of service outages since Clipper 2.0 launched. “ I want to support growing ridership, and I feel like I don’t have the tools to do my job,” a BART station agent told KQED.
“You are a 20-year-old exchange student from Shanghai, and this is your first time in the United States,” reads the opening lines of the prototype. “During high school, you spent hours and hours on your laptop, binging Gilmore Girls. Everything in your drowsy new town reminds you of the show.”
The cameras gave out over 140,000 warnings, or just over 3,600 a day, to speeding drivers in their first 38 days of operation. These accounted for just 1.5% of all drivers in Oakland. At one site the average speeder went 19 mph over the limit. Cameras start ticketing Sunday.
The campaign paused signature gathering Monday, but said it would restart imminently.
