And when I was hanged between earth and heaven they lifted up their heads to see me. And they were exalted, for their heads had never before been lifted.

Digital painting in landscape format. The viewer is looking up towards a person with glowing white hair who holds up the skinned hide of an antelope; the red underside of the skin rests behind them like a backdrop. There is a scattering of pierced holes in the hide, and light pours through these holes (and the antelope’s empty eye socket) like cathedral windows in the sun. The person’s neck is partially severed, and blood pours from the wound upwards towards their eyes. Their chest is bare, and their lung veins glow beneath their skin. They’re wearing fabric around their waist, along with some hanging jewels and a metallic/golden plate that depicts a lion surrounded by stars & a sideways crescent moon. The antelope’s rear left leg is partially cut off, and there is a network of ropes & fabric tied around the stump. These strands of fabric, along with a bunch that are tied to the person’s right wrist, blow wildly in the wind. Behind the entire scene is a grey, storm-like background. There are glowing cave paintings of horses, cows, and antelope along the bottom of the image.
