This is something I've personally noticed in animation and why I decided to walk away from it, even in the indie space. I am currently pivoting to being a comic writer/artist and am already feeling happier and more excited for it. But I am very much still mourning the closing of that door.

In general, the entire job market has moved away from training employees in favor of only hiring the aging demographic of people who already know the job.

I am once again trying to get back on my bullshit (another Stolas sketch) after like two months of not drawing. lol Trying to do sketches when I feel like I can't draw anything cuz it's lower pressure. My motivation is so shot, y'all. But I still wanna try and find a way to break out of this. 😭

Thought I was out of a that depression rut but that was VERY short-lived. Feels so damn hard to draw anything. I hate this, y'all. I'm not sure what to do. 😫

Finally doing the format test for House of Solomon to figure out if I wanna draw it in scroll or traditional format and honestly, I'm seeing the strengths both can offer and it's not as easy as I thought to decide. I will say, figuring out panel layouts in scroll format definitely feels harder. xD

“Yes, you can blame the algorithm but at some point, it’s just you problem and you just aren’t posting enough.” Grind mindset advice literally burned my ass out so bad. I’ve processed to ignore all of it ever since. It took me 2 years to draw again when I burned out.

If you see this, please tell me the worst/most baffling bit of creative feedback you've ever recieved. Mine is still the time somebody told me my aliens had names that were too alien. Not that they were unpronounceable, just that they didn't sound enough like human names.

This is shit that happens in Dictatorships; anything that goes against the "great leader" is punished by imprisonment. When artists start being thrown in prison for their creations that are critical of a powerful leader, it's something to be VERY worried about. This man needs to be freed.

A cartoonist named Daniel "Des" Rolando Sanchez Estrada was tried as a terrorist and sentenced to 30 years in prison for having anti-Trump comics in his car. Prosecutors connected him to a 2025 anti-ICE protest he didn't even attend because he was in the same book club as others who were.

NEW: Eight protesters who the DOJ accused of having connections to antifa were sentenced to decades in prison over a shooting outside a Texas immigration detention center that left one police officer wounded. Activists who didn’t plan the protest and left when asked still received 50-year terms.

If you are a white person trying to figure out what to say about Juneteenth on social media, it’s ok. Instead: - Support a black owned business with your money. - Read a book from a black author. - Go to an event today where you live. - Repost something. Support, educate, celebrate.

Happy Juneteenth to all those who celebrate! Your reminder that many of our modern civil rights movements, including the LGBTQ+ rights movement, were kickstarted by Black people! Do your part to help Black people out however you can, because they need it now more than ever!

“The pact between man and image is sacred,” del Toro told the starry crowd at Mother Wolf. Art can help bring people together, he said, “but we are in a time when that is in danger.” He called artificial intelligence a form of “natural stupidity.”

I feel like I'm really coming out of the depression I've had the past 2 months. Went back over another character design for the comic and finalized it. Put my IKEA bookcase up and organized my comics, finally. Feeling good. Promise I will post new stuff soon.
