We celebrated a birthday yesterday, and this morning I heard a musical candle in the trash can. It's kind of unsettling that a disposable thing is still alive, unaware of its fate to either degrade to death or still sing its happy tune in a landfill.

I watched Wolf's Children and felt bittersweet. Hana had to give up so much only for her wolf-hybrid kids to rapidly mature and leave her alone with no safety net. The theme is about devotion, but it feels to me that Hana was put into a bad situation. She nearly died finding Ame.
