Reading A Scanner Darkly again. Must be the third copy I’ve bought over the past 30 years. Lent the older edishes out, never to be seen again. Worth it.

“He has always been the sort of boy who picks at scabs. In class sometimes he digs the compass point into the webbing of his hands. It helps him concentrate: it quells the noise.” www.thedarkmagazine.com/baby-blue/ Very happy to return to The Dark Magazine today with ‘Baby Blue’.

One of the best things you can do for an author is check their book out of the library. If your library doesn't have the title, requesting it is also great! Never apologize. The library bought the book! Sometimes more than one! Because of you!
Never ever apologize for getting someone's book from the library. A lot of them were written by authors who themselves first read a lot of other books in a library

Lou Reed was right: You need a bus load of faith to get by.
We coat every page of our books with a patented clear resin, harmless in low levels, that activates when a page is digitally scanned, releasing a generational curse on anyone who is using our books to train LLMs. Fear not, scholars and librarians have access to non-cursed editions.
