Watching the Americans talk about covid response as if they didn’t fail across the board and arguably their inaction in the first few MONTHS helped supercharge the pandemic.. remember when they started intercepting PPE shipments headed for Canada? They never ever learn or change.

Btw, the only real response to someone complaining that their Tim Hortons server can barely speak English is to ask why they’re not pissed at the franchise owner who put those good people on a microphone so they could afford another vacation. And then tell them to shut up.
This happens because we’re all told to tolerate the quiet bigotry and bone stupid self righteousness of people in order to keep the peace, that it’s not worth upsetting people by calling out the little things If we stomp out bigots in our own circles, they don’t stomp on innocent people. It’s on us
Sunil Sarwal@sunilsarwal.bsky.social · 2w agoThere’s a video circulating on FB of a mob of angry white people in Moncton beating up a young Muslim woman while yelling “Go back home.” In front of her child. She had gone to buy groceries. She was yelling for help while people laughed and filmed.
Anyone saying we need to sit down and make a deal with Trump and the Americans is wrong and needs to get this sort of look. Trump hasn't met a deal or contract that he wouldn't breach or tear up without a second thought. If a pundit doesn't know that by now, they're not worth putting on the air.
So we’re all just going to wait for the midterms to see if the Democrats can take Congress on the assumption that they won’t blow it?
The right move is probably the boring one, but that’s if you’re worried about Trump’s reaction. But Canadians need to see a real reaction, do something, none of us care if it’s performative, but make a move.
