I didn't get to Orlando in time for Megaplex, but I am at Universal this week, in the rain...

An 8 hour work day yesterday turning into a 14 hour workday was not on my bingo card. All heavy physical labor outside in this heatwave too. And I'm already back at work this morning. Everything is sore. I really wish I was at Anthrocon instead.

Update: I don't think this is what was meant by hot bird summer! It was so hot today that I had ice cream in the shower after work.

To be honest though, going to a con this time of year in this heat sounds miserable.

I do plan to attend FTO in September, FWA next year, and Con Nooga next year. Thinking about trying for MFF and Chattanooga Comic Con this year.

I hope everyone has fun at AC! I won't be attending. I'll be stuck outside in the Tennessee humidity at work. Can't afford it or get off work. Plus the stress of having to have a cover story for my parents who would have to watch my cockatiel. I'll get there one of these years though hopefully.

Tested the waters about telling mom I’m a furry. Instead of FWA, she thought I was in Atlanta for the weekend to visit attractions like Six Flags. Mentioned there was a furry con in Atlanta while there. She just gave me a disgusted look and said nothing. Guess that answers whether I can tell them...

How many of y'all hide from family that you're a furry and traveling to cons? How do you manage? The stress from hiding it and having a cover story for cons is taking a mental toll. My parents are close minded and unaccepting of furry, but I'm getting close to ripping the bandaid off for my sake.

I don't wanna go to work. I just wanna go back to the con and be a silly bird!

A few pictures from FWA, now that I'm back home. What an amazing, action-packed time ❤️ met new people, reconnected with friends. Moonlight was incredible, Undead Dog was a great nightcap, everything was amazing. To all who said hello or yapped with me, thank you and I look forward to next time!

I'm home now. The post con depression is hitting hard. The tears have started. I don't want to go back to normal life and having to hide my furry side.

I am not going to miss the shower in my room though. It was horrible.

Now that the con is over for me, and I'm in my room packing, I'm getting depressed thinking about having to go back to my house where I'm by myself all the time. It gets so lonely there... It's been so nice to be around so many like-minded people. I'm going to miss that the most.

I had a great FWA! It was so fun going to a big con! I had a blast meeting everyone! My one complaint is I wish it didn't have to fall on Mother's Day weekend so I could stay for the whole weekend. I'm having to leave on Sunday because I'll never hear the end of it if I miss Mother's Day dinner...

Do not recommend climbing 17 stories up the Atlanta Hilton. Not speaking from experience or anything as I gasp for breath.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for getting on a handpaw that is too small in the wrist to get my hands through easily? It's a hassle to take them on and off, and almost impossible if I'm sweaty. I'd like to find an easier way before I go to FWA tomorrow. I don't think stretching is an option.
