Jocelyn Anderson Photography@jocelynanderson.bsky.social · 2mo agoA Blue Jay and a male Baltimore Oriole battle in a Cottonwood tree. The Blue Jay looks to have the upper hand (upper wing?) here, but was eventually chased off by the Baltimore Oriole.
The piping plover (Charadrius melodus) is a sand-colored, sparrow-sized shorebird that nests and feeds along coastal sand and gravel beaches in North America. They like to cuddle with the mom for 4 weeks, even when they are too big to fit under her.
