I really enjoyed this episode for a few reasons. Most of all, I love how Barclay and Bee (1) read / discuss specific endnotes and (2) puzzle out the plot together. Playing solo games. Reading. These are social activities. It's what I dreamed of: multiple playthroughs, discussing with friends. ❤️

In July, we read & played recent ENNIE-winner “SPINE” (or: "Siderius Plug's SPINE: Immortality in Ninety-Nine Endnotes"), a dark solo TTRPG about losing yourself in a book by Asa Donald (@backwardsttrpg.bsky.social). You can listen to the episode here:

while i'm on bsky again, this is me soft-launching that i've been working on a visual novel. i guess saying that explicitly makes it a relatively-hard-launch but don't hold me to anything yet ok? i'm taking it slow intentionally

three characters standing in a dark department store. from left to right: a black woman with pink hair in low buns, wearing a baggy t-shirt, arm warmers, and a layered skirt; a nonbinary white person with black slicked-back hair, wearing a sleeveless blue turtleneck, a black capelet, and black slacks; a man with warm tan skin and dark brown hair in braids, wearing green and brown armor. the window this is displayed in is called Knight School. the black woman, named em, is saying "If they make us fight living mannequins, I'm gonna fucking flip."

it's been forever since i talked about this game. if you don't know about CONFLICT OF INTEREST, it is my original pride & joy. it's a two-player game about spies in a hidden relationship, played out as scenes in their hotel rooms. it's also like three years old now which makes me feel nauseous

hello! it is once again the off-season for my job, and as such, i am in need of some additional income. i've updated my ko-fi shop (ko-fi.com/barcstravis) with most of my games, and added some cheap commission slots. & you can see more examples of my work at barcstravis.com!

very excited to play “the incident at galley house” once i can afford a new game. until then, have this picture from when jamie & i finished roottreemania. slight spoilers for roottreemania i suppose

barclay and jamie’s middle fingers up at the roottreemania final explanation screen: “But that's the kind of time we've been having. Like I said, buckle up. Maybe grab some popcorn. We’ll start with Guy Hudson.”

Barclay did the playbook art for my game Heaven in the Dust and did an *incredible* job, and was a delight to work with besides. Do yourself a favour and pay him to do some art for you!
