I wonder why there’s not much online chatter about Star City. Enjoyed it, and couldn’t help think of period drama icons Bessy and Nash when these two were on the screen. Wha a crossover!

there is some chronically online discourse floating around that might make me delete twitter and bsky. but where will i post about my fandoms? tumblr only?! :(
We felt very nice and snug, the more so since it was so chilly out of doors
I feel like we moved on to fast from all the shenanigans about Jeopardy hosting when the correct answer had always been Ken Jennings
Random thought but I really hope the Masterpiece podcast has an episode with Felix Scott for season 7. They’ve done nearly the whole cast for Grantchester, so seems fair.
On bsky people saying don’t let anyone make you feel bad for being glad someone evil died—but you’re a prisoner of your own mind or in the wrong circles and consuming the world medium because I don’t see anyone shaming anyone. These are trial runs btw. Free yourself now from your own guilt.
starting our criterion collection for the first time this year...cannot wait for those films to get there (and for those points to hit the account so I can use them to order more lol)
the bubblegum melancholy of you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love reminds me so much of the aesthetic of Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette.
These Jeopardy preemptions due to basketball is having a negative impact on my mental health
wait no, am I shipping an unpopular ship? AGAIN? This is my lot in life.
I’m pretty sure Emma Lion is not going to end up with the person I want her to end up with, but I’ll try not to be too disappointed about it.

2nd generation Mexican American kids wearing ear protection at dances with live and loud banda we have come so far lol
I don’t read a lot on my Kindle but have to for the Emma Lion series which my library didn’t have as a book, only audiobook, so I had to do free trial of kindle unlimited. Anyway I realized I could download fanfics to the kindle and that they look nice and save my spot.
Starting book 4 of the Emma Lion series. Really digestible and the characters are compelling.
How do I get someone to let me write about whatever happens in the Miss scarlet final season? I need to build credentials over the course of the summer 😂
Someone write an expose on why Slate is making all the podcasts change their format! Stop expecting so little of your listeners and catering to the lowest denominator :(
Change is hard. Chris, I loved your usual, somewhat more academic tone but will keep listening!
Announcing the return of my @slate.com podcast #HitParadePod! We now offer single-episode topics more frequently in a conversational style. For our comeback I go deep on ’80s shapeshifter + Rock Hall inductee Billy Idol. How’d the sneer king fuse punk w/pop+dance+goth+metal to rule MTV & the charts?
What are books like Moby-Dick I can read? I've read Poe's Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym. Something immersive and a little bit wild.
#Artemis crew to Mission Control, after seeing and attempting to describe the eclipse: "And if you could give me about 20 new superlatives in the mission summary tomorrow, that'll help my vocabulary out a bit. Thank you."
I dunno. If they end birth right citizenship, a clear corruption of the plain language of the Constitution, I think this country is over.
The Strokes having a good album from 2020 doesn’t make sense on paper but it’s true.

This is taking us forever to listen to because we keep pausing to share our own personal chart history. Great idea for an episode Chris!
Billboard Bildungsroman: For the 100th episode of #HitParadePod on @slate.com I go deep on my chart-geek history. Part 1: my musical memoir, Solid Gold to Nirvana. Part 2: the story of Casey Kasem, original #AmericanTop40 host—how he nationalized countdowns, invented the LDD & survived the Dead Dog.
Such a joy to see Michael B. Jordan honored early in his career instead of late. Keep the roles coming!
People are not getting to their feet fast enough for as many people. Zero respect #oscars
