It’s butterbutt city in front of our house this morning.
Ahhhhh, the post covid/flu vaccine hangover. I wish dogs understood ‘my bones hurt can’t you just jump up here on your own this time?’
Surely someone does research on advertising saturation, right? I don’t need to see another Walmart ad. We know they exist.
Our garage spe-i-ders: Scary Terry the hobo spider and Spinderella, some sort of orb weaver.
Yeah, I’ll still pop, lock, and drop it we just might be talking about slightly different things at this point.
Heard an acoustic mashup of Folsom Prison x Pinball Wizard at the county fair today and it slapped.
I’m ranked #273 in Fantasy Taskmaster no big deal.
What if you were the person doing the third paragraph on the Rosetta Stone and you sneezed and your hand slipped? Mortifying.
I had a dream i was housesitting for Thomas Edison except it was @pftompkins.bsky.social He would never let me turn on the lights in the house “don’t use my precious electricity!”
See, the problem with pianos is the notes that sound good together are spread out all over the place.
Garage door opener stopped working so now I gotta find a new one. I’ve never successfully programmed a car to open a garage door so lets all cross our fingers its less complicated with an opener.
This is what I will be reading in September (not in any particular order).
This week feels like the first week in 2016 when we lost Bowie and Rickman.
Just saw a commercial for Cozy Earth that started “It’s really gross to sleep in your underwear every night” to advertise sleep shorts for men. BRO WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT.
Watched ‘They Live’ for the first time last night and… wow. Half the movie was a shootout and 1/4 of it was a fistfight over one person wanting the other to put on a pair of sunglasses.
We had our dryer vents cleaned out and now our dryer dries things all in one go its like having a brand new appliance.
Squats had an x-ray today to make sure he didn’t have kidney stones (he doesn’t) and the vet told me, “all his other little insides look good too!” And I thought that was really cute- all his lil insides.
Bryan Fuller’s Dust Bunny healed the scaredy-cat in me. I have vivid memories of the lengths I’d take to avoid getting close to whatever it was underneath my bed. Visually stunning. Haven’t stopped thinking about it since last night. Thanks for a beautiful film, @bryanfuller.bsky.social !
My husband created me as a character in the game he’s playing and I’m a Friend of Dogs with Hyperfixation. And yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
Mosquito was just in our living room. Husband and I surrounded it, arms out, hands ready to clap it into non-existence. I don’t know if we killed it but I bet it looked like we were doing some OA-type magic to transport ourselves out of here…. Or whatever that show was about.
Just thinking about Gatorade and if it had been invented at the University of Idaho it would be called Vandalade and that sounds like a fancy way to prepare steak or something.
Read 18 books in July which brings my 2026 total to 40. I don’t think I’ve read this many books in a year… ever… because I never used the library as much as I have been lately.
If the shorty-shorts for men of the 80s and early 90s had stayed in fashion maybe we wouldn’t have the current loneliness epidemic everyone’s talking about.
I love my husband and he’s really great… BUT… he thinks a serving of ice cream is like, three spoonfuls.
Couches shouldn’t come in white and if you have one you’re a psychopath.
Mike Judge, I’d like to know why you changed Tater Tot’s name in this new season of King of the Hill. He’s waiting on his royalty check for use of his likeness and life story for the character ‘Caesar Salad’ thx
Watched Cocoon the other night because my husband hadn’t seen it and he’s been wanting to watch the sequel for three days now. He told me today he’s watched the break dancing scene every day since.
The more I look at my dogs’ faces and do increasingly unhinged things to make them happy I think I’m finally starting to understand how sailors could fall for sirens.
