Think I'm done with the Vampire. And I'm pleased with how it looks on my wall. One solution the space problem in this room at least. #histscalemodels

Actually did some work on the modelling bench this week. What you see us a 1/48 Vampire on an airfield apron. The plan is to put the whole thing in a picture frame and mount it on my wall. #histscalemodels
In a radical departure from my usual build subject of armour and figures, I'm actually attempting to build an actual (gulp) aeroplane. A 1/48 Vampire, an aircraft I've always had a soft spot for. I'm going in. Cover me. #histscalemodels
Now that #bastillebuild is over I've returned to the AVRE I'd started building earlier. Today I gave it a commander, made from an old torso from the bottom of my bits box, with a Hornet head transplanted on. Hornet make some beautifully sculpted heads and this is no exception. #histscalemodels
Think I'm done with my #bastillebuild. I was thinking of adding a photographer to the diorama but couldn't find a suitable figure. If one turns up in the future I may add it. #histscalemodels
Getting close to the end now, though I still have the crew figures to do, then a bit of detail work here and there. #bastillebuild #histscalemodels
Here's the crew for my Renault armoured car, primed and preshaded for paint. As you can see, the officer is something of a shortarse compared to the driver. (I'm sure someone will comment about officers suffering from Short Man Syndrome). #bastillebuild #histscalemodels
Once again, I'm really impressed by the quality and the ease of build of Copper State Models kits. #bastillebuild #histscalemodels
Currently working on a Normandy diorama. This is the first time I've tentatively placed the various elements, though there will be more. Probably going to put this to one side for now, to concentrate on my #bastillebuild. #histscalemodels
Well, I managed to get in and out with my finances largely indented. Though my son did buy me a 1/48 Vampire which will get started soon. #histscalemodels
#histscalemodels I'm not absolutely sure, but suspect my sons have, for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, arranged to take me to the Model World event at the NEC next weekend. Must keep credit card locked away.
Just because the monkey has temporarily put the gun down doesn't mean we aren't STILL LOCKED IN A ROOM WITH A MONKEY WITH A LOADED GUN.
Think I'm done with this. I broke my 'no injuries, no blood' rule because I wanted to show a Voluntary Aid Detachment nurse in WW1. Also, wanted to do a WW1 subject that didn't involve the classic Flanders mud cliché, so we have a summer scene instead. #histscalemodels
Current project involves a WW1 first aid station, a VAD nurse and some walking wounded figures 1 /32 from Tommy's War. #histscalemodels
Now the work room is a bit tidier I'm wondering what to do next. Might give the armour a rest for a while. Perhaps one of these two? #histscalemodels
Terrifying, and I really worry about my American friends.
Yikes! I've actually had an opportunity to tidy up the blokeroom at last. It was getting pretty squalid. I can see the worktop again. #histscalemodels
Starting to compose the scene of my wrecked Tiger. Final figure positions not entirely certain yet, but this is close I think. Then a lot of tidying up, adding small details I'd forgotten and adding veneer to the sides. #histscalemodels
Trying to depict a country lane in early autumn Russia, the grass and foliage starting to yellow. And experimenting with transferring the vehicle scorching to the surrounding terrain. #histscalemodels
