Omar Yaghi grew up in Amman, Jordan, where he was responsible for collecting fresh drinking water. "I learned that water is precious," he said. Those experiences laid the foundation for his work developing MOFs that have revolutionized chemistry, and earned him the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

Many more stars are both visible in the background and scattered throughout the clouds. The clouds are concentrated in the upper right and the lower middle.
