Bear in the Midwest

🏳️‍🌈 Taken. Iowa-adjacent, across the river in IL where I-74 crosses the Mississippi. Seasonal naturist. Happily GenX.

it’s been the Mondayest of Mondays. Besides it being a very long day, the peak consisted of slipping off a pallet which hadn’t been dropped by its pallet jack while holding a 50-pound piece of computer equipment. Shin bruise forthcoming.

I don’t wish my plantar fasciitis on anyone. Jobs at retail stores with glossy cement floors are my biggest challenge as the soreness gets exponentially worse after roughly seven hours nonstop on my feet, even with support insoles.

I haven't used a trackball for decades but decided to give one a try for the right price. The feel on this one is good, but I'm still slightly struggling on pointer finesse to hit buttons or drag sliders. Adjusting DPI settings appears to be helping.

The smoke from Canada is finally affecting us here in Western Illinois. I’ve been out and about to the point where my nose and throat are irritated. I liken it to what happened in my theater days when I was around a fog machine for too long.

I wish I could live in the part of Illinois where going north into Wisconsin allows me to visit places like Milwaukee. Instead, I'm on the side of the state where going north into Wisconsin gets me to places like Platteville. Both are fine places but the vibes are a bit different.
