I've read a fairly poor review of the new series of #SlowHorses and after the first episode I have to say I disagree. Here's my spoiler free review of seasons 1-5.

This is a great piece on the making of what I consider a #horror masterpiece, #TheDescent.

We own a house (I'm a bit late to the party) and it is gorgeous.
Very, very annoyed at Millwall's seconds half performance. Arsenal's first half hasn't been great either.

My life for a while is going to be journeys on the bus up and down the country, until I get a job in Sheffield. I have embraced #FlixBus as my alone time. Can crack out some films on the tablet like in on a flight.

So many wrongs about this fight. But ultimately it is Benn testing himself at the highest level available to him (for the most money). Would be surprised if Garcia doesn't school him, and then an excuse about the weight. Boxing is risk vs reward and Garcia is risking most, but it's very calculated.
Southpaw Jab@southpawjab.bsky.social · 3w agoWhat do people make of #GarciaBenn? I interviewed Conor before he started playing/becoming the bad guy. That Garcia comes across as reasonable with his history speaks loudly. That being said, Garcia should be too much for Benn- who hasn't stopped anyone since he got popped for PEDS.
A very unique new #zombie series starts with Adam's first written and recorded podcast. Check out #TheDeadAreComing on #Spotify

It's a little bit of a clickbait-y piece but good recognition of a fantastic show which was done a disservice by being made to rush its planned narrative and not being as appreciated as it should have been at the time. I loved Rome and it's worth checking out if you haven't!
Raunchy Forgotten HBO Series Was 10 Years Too Early
Before Game of Thrones, HBO had another series all about political intrigue, violence, and pure hedonism. 20 years later, it's worth revisiting.

Got to assume Pili has been carefully vetted for this fight, although she is IBO champion. I saw Katie Taylor fight Jessica McCaskill at York Hall and it was an amazing experience, and a war. She will be missed but I have no doubt continue to be a force for good in boxing.
Southpaw Jab@southpawjab.bsky.social · 4w agoThis weekend #Irish #boxing legend #KatieTaylor finishes her career at Croke Park, fighting #FloraPili for the status of undisputed World Champion at Super Lightweight. MINI #FILMREVIEW #TurningPoint #Generation911 #Netflix #documentary about 9/11. I recall watching rolling news when the towers were hit, in disbelief. A horrible day with awful consequences. The film is emotional, engaging & interesting without ever being truly powerful. Worth your time. 7/10

MINI #FILMREVIEW #RoboCop2 1990 follow up with #PeterWeller & a good Director in #IrvinKerschner. Maligned because the original is so good, shares (perhaps too many) similarities & loses much of the humour/social commentary but decent violence & effects/stunts keep it enjoyable enough. 6/10
