Jack's Law... After attending my first official Jack White concert, my unpopular opinion is that locking phones in pouches is a good thing for concerts. People were engaged. The crowd was energetic. It was a great disconnect.

Yesterday, I celebrated another trip around the sun by checking out some Chicago area landmarks on the North Shore by bike. Despite the Texas-like heat, I got 35 miles in.

I've seen people posting stories with "Born in the USA" and "This Land is Your Land" on the socials today. These are protest songs. Sadly, many do not know the meaning behind the songs. When I saw Bruce Springsteen live, he didn't perform "Born in the USA."

I moved from Dallas to Chicago in the last 3 weeks and just got word my job will be eliminated. I'm applying to other internal roles, but I thought I'd post here for some good advice on how to tackle a search. Positive stuff only, please. A lot has changed in almost 9 years.

That was a first. I've been on a road trip through Arkansas and the employees of Taco Bell locked themselves out of their restaurant an hour before closing. They got back in soon enough and I got my crunch wrap.

Texans have to vote a lot. Constitutional amendment elections come November of odd numbered years, bond elections, charter amendment elections, run-offs, etc. Voter fatigue here is real and ranked choice would be perfect for Texas, but until then, vote, vote, vote. ...that includes today.

The Chicago Fire will play at "McDonald's Park." As much as I'd like to laugh at the name, I love that it is privately funded. Dallas may tear down the iconic city hall for another tax-payer funded stadium while Chicago is showing who should actually pay to build stadiums.
