I was lucky to come away from the London Craft Beer Festival with some US beers, with thanks to Lotte Peplow. I’ve been enjoying them over the last week or so. Some right bangers in there from 3 Sons Brewing, AleSmith Brewing, Toppling Goliath, and Bootstrap Brewing. 1/3

So, the verdict is in! Palindrome Brewing Co’s trio of launch beers are called Racecar 1, 2, and 3. Each member of the Palindrome team has designed the recipe for one of the beers. But whose beer is best? 1/5
I’m at Hop Stop Beers having the three Palindrome Racecar beers. What are they like? Which one do I prefer? Let’s dive in and see!
Look at the colour on this Westie from Two Flints. That’s the proper WCIPA hue! Isn’t only the colour that is authentic, it tastes bloody gorgeous too.
The @trackbrewingco.bsky.social collabs with Canadian breweries have been excellent. This one, with Brasserie du Bas, is certainly no exception.
They’re known for their massive hazies, but can @azvexbrewing.bsky.social brew a good Westie? Yes. Yes they can! An excellent beer.
Met a friend for a few beers tonight at the excellent The Hatch in Redhill for a few Pilgrim Brewery beers and a US beer (Toppling Goliath) from their beer fridge.
This evening’s beers were from @sirencraftbrew.bsky.social, @roostersbrewco.bsky.social, and VaultCity. One banger after another!!
Two beers at Hop Stop this evening, starting with a West Coast Pale from Two Flints, which I gulped half down before taking a photo. I have a can of this at home, so I’m very happy about that! Next one was a lovely hazy from Glasshouse.
It’s the podcast’s 6th birthday and I’m celebrating with a two-part Beer Prime Hall of Fame. Part 1 is out now! With @tabamatu.bsky.social, Dave Hayward, Jordan Mower, @atjbeer.bsky.social, @totalcurtis.bsky.social, Colin Gilham, James Rushforth, @sirencraftbrew.bsky.social 🎧 tinyurl.com/5b27rxs2

Well, yesterday’s “Bronze final” was a surprisingly fun match to watch. I enjoyed these two @azvexbrewing.bsky.social beers during the game.
All finished (well, nearly!) at LCBF. More beers from @thornbridge.bsky.social, @verdantbrew.bsky.social, and Anspach & Hobday. Off to another interview now!
Great chat with Steve from Sierra Nevada, with a couple more of their beers, plus one from Double Barrelled.
More US from Brooklyn Brewery and Shogun by Embolden, before a few Sierra Nevada beers (Torpedo and Pils) waiting to speak with Steve Grossman.
Great talk from Garrett Oliver. Next beer was a spicy Gazpacho beer from Hackney Church (wow!) and a hazy from The Veil.
I’m at LCBF and off to see Garrett Oliver’s Keynote speech. First beer is @durationbeer.bsky.social Good Times!
Over the last couple of days I had a lovely @azvexbrewing.bsky.social beer at home, bought in Liverpool; and watched the England match 🥲 at Hop Stop with beers from Beak Brewery, @verdantbrew.bsky.social, and Waldhaus.
Episode 139 is out today, featuring from Two Tails Taproom with an update on their permanent taproom plans. You’ve got just about enough time to listen before the England match! 😜 🎧 tinyurl.com/3z25bjtc

This afternoon I took a group of 44 people to Pilgrim Brewery in Reigate. We had a corporate event planned in Reigate which cancelled at the 11th hour. Step up Pilgrim to help us out of a hole and entertain the guests with a great tour and tasting of their cracking beers. Legends!
After a long - and swelteringly hot - day working in Chester, I’m heading back to London. There’s a great taproom at the station and I’ve cooled off with a Sierra Nevada California IPA, and got a couple of train beers from SN and Pohjala.
Following the Azvex visit, I went to @deadcraftybeerco.bsky.social where they still had some of the beers from the Basqueland Brewery Tap Takeover (both were Westies), plus a couple of “dark side” beers from Burnt Mill and Garage Beers (Barcelona). A great city centre bar!
Another style I enjoy is Dark Mild. It’s got a reputation as being a boring old traditional style but a lot of modern breweries are brewing them. This one is a collab between @newbarns.bsky.social and Omnipollo and is just sublime. A note perfect beer.
Recently I’ve been trying to have as many West Coast IPAs as possible, and this is one I keep coming back to. This is the colour that Westies should be, and such an amazing flavour and aroma. Great work from @indierabble.bsky.social. It’s been keeping me company while editing!
In my continued search for great Westies, I’ve really enjoyed this offering from Two Flints and Baron. Has everything I want in a WCIPA - assertive bitterness, malty backbone, and drinkability.
Happy 250th to America! I’ve celebrated with a couple of great US beers from Brooklyn Brewery and Sierra Nevada
I saw a very funny movie at the cinema this evening - The Invite. Strongly recommend! Enjoyed a great Westie while I was at the cinema - Bosko from @pressuredropbrw.bsky.social. Also strongly recommend!
At Hop Stop this evening I had both of the @verdantbrew.bsky.social x @tate.bsky.social beers to celebrate the Frida Kahlo exhibition opening on 10th July. Starting with Mexican lager “I Would Give Her Flowers”, followed by a hazy IPA called “Tender Thorns”. Two amazing beers for an amazing artist.
