I’m never sure how to react when you pay with your card and the cashier says “Right, that’s all gone through!” with an element of surprise in their voice

I just hacked up 4 IKEA Kallax units with an axe into manageable sections so they could fit in the car to take them to the tip. It was surprisingly accurate, precise and didn’t make any mess. Unbelievably satisfying. 🪓

Going to a cool cocktail party tonight (yes, actually leaving the house) and my whole look was going to be starting the evening with that cool “end of the evening” undone bow tie around my neck. Getting stuff ready for later and just realised my bow tie is a pre-tied one.

I’ve been in almost full time fixing mode for nearly 48 hours. Boiler valve broke, driveway gate hinge fix, dishwasher broke, roomba broke, outdoor tap broke, the little rivet on my crocs broke, one of my guitar pedals stopped working… and that’s just the fun stuff

Took our kids to the local bike shop today to get some bikes. The guy in the shop: You’re probably better off getting them online, it’s cheaper than whatever we can do

You have the same postman for years, you speak to them almost every day then one day the postman is a different postman, you never got to say goodbye, and it all begins again.

I used to read lots of fiction but now I really struggle to be able to. Whenever I read fiction I am compelled to make or write something of my own. Reading feels like churning over someone else’s work when I could be doing something of my own, and I feel like it is a waste of time. However…
