Oh boy there’s a flaw in my early morning Friday bike bus- Thursdays are usually the busiest, most exciting part of my week and it’s really hard to wind down to be ready for a 6:20 start time

The past few months, I've been tinkering with an idea for how to show people how to ride safely together across the City and provide a way to communicate detours for cyclists during the upcoming W Main utility work: a weekly bike bus on Friday mornings
We are in a blessed era of road cycling for spectators. It is a rest day of Tour de France and every team has a ton of behind the scenes YouTube videos. No need to wait for a documentary or clip show or Netflix series. Teams are competing for fans directly and it rules.

Finally had the time to finish Life After Cars. It covered a lot of material I was already very familiar with, but packaged it in the most accessible way I’ve seen yet. And the ending made me cry. I needed that pep talk.

I got to give a long speech against a couple of highway expansions and vote against them. Felt great.
Moved into our new house today and walked a couple blocks to a great restaurant and the owner saw me wearing a t-shirt about biking and started talking to me about cycling and I planted the seed that he should wheel in a tv and serve brunch and show big races
