I decided to read the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson again. To my surprise, it's been giving me a lot to think about as I reflect on the state of tech and AI...

I know this sentiment has been echoed by many others already, but I just wanted to also share my disdain for the fact that AI has taken away my ability to use em dashes for fear of people thinking I used AI to write something. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)

If I were to do another thesis for grad school, I'd be curious how "people pleasers" are dealing with this new working relationship with AI. Do they feel compelled to agree with AI perspectives? Does groupthink come into play when working with multiple models?

I asked Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol to do research on the best time to send out an email newsletter. This is what Fable 5 had to say about GPT-5.6 Sol's response. "Bottom line: I’d grade it a B+. Sourcing is honest, metric priorities are right, confidence is appropriately medium." 😆😆😆

After years of working in the web, I still don't love messing with DNS records. Just blew up my site records and it's dark now... 😭

I've been exploring lots of different approaches to weekly planning. Yesterday, I decided to go full blown mad scientist with good ol' paper & pen creating widgets, goals and trackers. Ideas are brewing y'all...

After taking a step back from speaking, I decided to end my sabbatical to talk at RefreshDC about the methodology nobody wants to discuss in the AI era: Documentation-Driven Development. For a recap of the event along with key takeaways, check out: www.bencodezen.io/blog/refresh...

It's funny to me that the hype train around AI wants the narrative of "you don't need to code anymore" to be a reality. As if anyone who enjoys coding is insane to do so since "AI can do it."

There's definitely something magical about attending these events in-person that doesn't even remotely get captured in virtual events. I have so many good memories of all the past @vueconf.us and looking forward to creating many more this year. Hope to see y'all there!

"Don't let 'I'll catch the recording' be your excuse. 🙅‍♂️ The most valuable parts of #VueConfUS are the Q&As, the lunch table debates, and the hallway track. That energy doesn't translate to video. Be in the room where it happens! 🚀 🎟️ vueconf.us #VueJS #WebDev

Vibe coding an app and shipping it feels a lot like opening a cafe where the food tastes pretty good, but you have no idea whether it's going to give your customers food poisoning later on.
