Alternate Jan stands outside the fast food restaurant they worked at, that collapsed to the divided lands below the city in last year's Make a Terrible Comic Day comic. They look up and outwards, then up at the pillar of the city, then finally out towards the warped field that lies ahead. They're terrified, grabbing onto a shoulder with the opposite arm, with tears in their eyes. They walk out to the wastelands with a simple "...ok".

Jan takes a photo of a decrepit structure with their cell phone camera, muttering "i wish i had my actual camera" to themself. A notification then appears, telling them they have one new message. They're confused, with a "huh?" The text, received at 7:06 (oddly enough with no cell reception), is from an unknown number, which asks "Are you back at home or are you still out?" Jan, looking towards an eerie doorframe, replies "...i don't think i'll ever be home ever again".

Jan enters the empty doorframe to a photorealistic monochrome collapsing building. The text continues, "This is Alicia, and this is my work phone number. Come over to my house tomorrow for a nice meal." Jan replies, "don't demons have anything better to do than send me spam texts?" A strange creature lurks in the shadows behind them. Jan, standing at the edge of a collapsed part of the floor, holds their phone in shock at the next message they receive: "Excuse me, aren't you my friend Sophia?" Jan isn't able to hold back their confusion, with a "wait how the fuck???" Suddenly, the room violently shakes. Jan loses their balance, dropping their phone into the hole in the floor, reacting with an "ah--!"

The phone falls to the abyss. The final text from the spammer reads "I'm so sorry, I was so careless. Your phone number differs from my friend's by only one digit. I hope this hasn't caused you any trouble." The phone falls and falls, becoming scribblier and scribblier as it descends until it becomes an unrecognizable mess of chaotic lines. Jan sighs, "today really is terrible".
