Systemic has been sitting just shy of $5K for too long! Check out extraordinary folks telling stories that will make you cry and laugh and thrill and think. The campaign has less than a week to go and the more it raises, the more we can pay these awesome people. www.kickstarter.com/projects/art...

SYSTEMIC VOL. 2: A 92-page SF/F anthology

The hit anthology returns with nine all-new stories where infinitely critical human lives and systemic forces grind together.

Been making some progress on this new short story for @solsticemfa.bsky.social, and drawing is finally beginning to feel more like handwriting, if that makes sense. Sometimes I’ve gotta scratch things out, but overall, what’s coming out of the pen is expressing what I want— it’s a good place to be!

Folks! My comics club students and I are going to debut their new anthology at Space Cadets this Saturday, and if you’re in the Houston area, we’d love for you to swing by! This is our fundraiser for the year, so if you want to get a custom commission or donate to the club, we’d love your support!

Every now and again, I get the bug to sketch an old favorite. Takes me a minute to get back in the swing of things… but eventually it sticks. 🕷️ 👨 (And Peter + MJ forever, imho!)

Got cosplayed today by some of my Creative Writing students and I’ve never been clocked so hard in my life. Identities are redacted to protect the guilty; Happy April Fools to me 🤦‍♂️

New comic alert! What happens when the well-meaning Hunger Tiger of Oz comes in contact with Lovecraftian forces? Stonie Williams and I aim to find out. You can grab our story in the new edition of Cthulhu Invades Oz on Kickstarter! (I’ll drop a link in the comments below.)

The only thing better than getting a page of comics? Getting *two* pages of comics. I don’t do full spreads very often, but it’s a fun way to challenge my chops while working on a bigger canvas. And since this story takes its characters around the world, well, why not?

Coloring a comics page is the part where I second-guess myself the *most*. In this case, I'm setting up a look that should last across a whole project. Anyone got any advice or notes for how this comes across?

I shared part of this the other day, but after knocking out this comics spread, I'm feeling pretty excited. We're only in competition with ourselves when it comes to art, and the Ben of 10 years ago would be pleased with how far he's come. Still plenty of growth ahead, though!
