Spotted from several '00 metres away. I wandered down to see if I could get close to it but it's on a private campsite and I didn't fancy walking in to identify it and being chased away by angry nudists. Anyway, initial thought was 105-series Alfa but now I'm not so sure. Thoughts?
What on earth is this cheeky eight-legged badger, @norwichgiant.bsky.social ? We're in Italy BTW (not sure if that helps) but he / she was extremely mobile (hence crap photos), maybe 12-14mm leg span and in the dusk appeared almost luminously white.
I've mentioned it many times before, but this is one of my favourite films. An unusual subject for a war film and very gritty. Well worth a watch if you've never seen it before.

The chart, from a 2025 @somoamsterdam.bsky.social report, says it all: European carmakers went on a sellers' inflation binge at the worst possible moment (i.e., the moment Chinese competitors geared up to lower prices and take market share).
Not sure i ever saw one of these in that colour when new! Incredibly rare thing.

Ran out of cooking whiskey a while ago so tonight it's time to open "The Midgie" from the Ardnamurchan distillery. A very lovely drop. There are some whiskies that literally taste like the air in the Highlands. This is one. Lovely.
This from the weekend reminded me of a Roger Melly (the man on the telly) strip from Viz in the late 80s. Very obscure, I appreciate, but would be amused if anyone else remembers the (very much NSFW) reference?
This is such a vital point. It's heightened our scepticism and reduced our faith. Utterly miserable.

What I mean is that now when I see an amazing or beautiful image I can’t have that initial “wow!” reaction. I doubt. I have to verify. I hate it.

Enjoyable morning at the Classic Motor Hub Italian day. These two would be pretty much perfect for me. 400 was a manual too.
Not what you expect to see in the car park of Waitrose, preferred shop of the geriatric, "I'm-not-racist-but" Daily Mail class, but a very welcome spot indeed amongst the otherwise bland automotive fauna. The spiciest flavour of Mk3 Golf in a delicious purple hue.
