"Did anyone in the '80s have a young American freedom jam band come to their high School or middle school?" During elementary school, I saw a couple of performances from the nearby high school bands. My fourth grade class saw a particularly memorable show, I remember.

"Do cinemas show movies to an empty house?" I've heard some theaters will still run the movie, just in case someone shows up late, or they'll cut it off after a certain point and wait for the next showing. But, one Christmas Eve, my sister and I were the only attendees to Leonard: Part 6.

It always astonishes me to read stories about people losing one job, and quickly lining a new, better paying one up, sometimes just minutes after leaving the last one. My personal record was less than two weeks after walking off a job in July of 2004. That new job turned out to be a mistake, tho'.

I had a weird dream earlier about being confused over having to move out of my house literally the next day, when I hadn't done any packing, found a new place to live, and worst of all, not even selling where I live now. Then strangers started to show up uninvited, while sizing the place up...

"What unusual item do you always pack for trips that most people probably skip?" Two backscratchers. Because, inevitably, my back is going to start itching at some point during the trip, and if I can't reach for something to help out, I'm not going to be in the best mood.

Looking back, I did miss out on a lot of musicians who debuted during my teenage years (this is nothing new today). Then, I look them up on Wikipedia, and get surprised to find that many of them had numerous Top 10 singles and multi platinum selling albums back in the day.

I'm going through a thread about the worst sitcoms that got very popular. "Mrs. Brown's Boys" keeps getting brought up. There would have been a point in my life where I would have went straight to YouTube to try watching it to judge for myself, but this is not that point in my life.

I was reminded of those stupid "Big Johnson" shirts that were popular during the mid nineties. I also remember seeing my one high school girlfriend, a self-admitted vanilla prude, wearing one after we broke up. Kind of hypocritical of her, but what can you do?

In the latest "worst U.S. city" thread over on Ask Reddit, Memphis seems to be the overwhelming choice for a lot of people. I've only been there twice, and once was a stopover between flights home. The other time? I had a great time, and experienced no problems. Maybe I just got lucky.

I'm old enough to remember that a form of ghosting was hanging up on someone in mid-conversation, then continually hanging up on them whenever they tried calling back demanding an explanation until they got the point and stopped calling.

Most of the state of Indiana has been suffering this week, in the aftermath of some serious storms. Flooding, power outages, a shortage of essentials in northwest Indiana, among other things. I live in southwest Indiana, where it's just been miserably hot for most of the week.

I've seen probably more videos on Facebook's Reels tab about cleaning out dryer lint vents over the past week than I have ever seen before in my life. And it got me paranoid enough to check my dryer's connection earlier this week. It looks 85 percent clear, but I could only see so far.

Oh, I hate it when I get called away from the computer for any reason, and don't close off my browser. Finding that I'm still on the same webpage that I was looking at hours ago is kind of embarrassing.

"What is the worst (or hardest) book you’ve ever read and why?" Walden by Henry David Thoreau back in college. It was a slog to get through, and I was infuriated when he summed up his second year at Walden in the penultimate sentence of the book. Just ONE sentence.

"Who’s the most famous person you went to school with?" Highland Regional High School; Blackwood, NJ: A half dozen professional athletes who played in the NFL and MLB. Pleasant Plains High School; Pleasant Plains, IL: A senator, an NCAA coach, and murder victim Kendra Hatcher.

Earlier, I found my box of Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars in my basement. I could have sworn I owned more of them than what was actually in that box. Maybe I didn't. Or maybe I have some more in another container.
