I was 19 when “the Lost Boys” came out on VHS. I spent $90 (in 1988 dollars) to buy a copy, and then decided that since a VHS rental was $3, I had to make sure I got my money’s worth out of it. So I watched it every night for over a month. I can still almost quote my way through the entire movie.

Today’s the 40th anniversary of the release of “Aliens.” A buddy of mine and I went to see it opening night. It’s still his favorite movie, and every year I get a text from him on the day saying something like “hey, remember where we were (40) years ago today?”

Just had a weird bittersweet moment when I realized my kids info was no longer being updated in the school district notification apps, and I could finally delete them from my phone.
I had a film professor give me “notes” on a short I did for class. I resubmitted the film after a couple of weeks, he praised me for taking his advice, and I got an A on the project. Thing was, I hadn’t changed a single frame. It was 100% the same film I’d originally turned in.

Mine is still the time somebody told me my aliens had names that were too alien. Not that they were unpronounceable, just that they didn't sound enough like human names.
The 250 had the opportunity to be something great, but then He came along and fucked it up for everyone. He's like the guy who shows up uninvited to a party you've been planning all year, cannonballs into the pool and only then do you find out he's suffering from a case of explosive diarrhea.
