Horror & Coffee@foundfootagefan.bsky.social · 4h agoI want to write another adaptation of an old horror/weird story in public domain, but rather than something easy like Dracula, I'm becoming obsessed with trying Arthur Machen's difficult and rather saucy occult tale The Great God Pan.
I'm trying so hard not to be my dad when I called him "dude" or "man", but my kid calling me "bruh" is really shitting me. Maybe I just don't want to deal with the idea that the Ninja Turtles and Bill and Ted was the influential American culture slop of my childhood.

I know I'm both hopelessly in love with a project and that it's probably doomed when I'm having to start a script with explanation notes on how to actually read it, because there's no way to format a script to match the unusual format of the film.
Damn, got misty listening to this. Had another cancer scare myself recently. My second. All in the negative, but shit, it puts things into perspective.

Finished the script for my new film. Had it in mind for years, but didn't know how it ended, until recently. It's a medieval story & I hadn't realized just how political it is. With Eggers' Werwulf coming, & others, I think more medieval art is inevitable as we slide into a new feudalist dark age.
